On September 25, families all over China will sit down together for the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is one of our biggest traditional festivals, and honestly the one with the nicest story behind it.
A festival about the moon
We celebrate it on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, which is when the moon is at its roundest and brightest of the year. A full moon means reunion here: the whole family under one roof,
from grandparents down to the little ones. The date moves every year because it follows the lunar calendar, so this time it falls on September 25.
The food is mooncakes. Dense, sweet, usually lotus seed paste, often with a salted egg yolk in the middle because it looks like a small moon. You do not eat one on your own. You cut it into
thin wedges and pass them around. Every autumn, boxes of them travel back and forth between family, friends and business partners. Think of it as the Chinese version of a Christmas hamper.
There are lanterns too, and osmanthus flowers that bloom right around this time, and an old legend about Chang'e, who drank an elixir and floated up to live on the moon, with a jade rabbit
keeping her company. Kids here still hear that story every autumn.
Our holiday dates
Our office and factory will be closed from September 25 (Friday) to September 27 (Sunday), three days in total. We are back at our desks on Monday, September 28.

The slowdown is not only us. Ink factories, cartridge plants, carton suppliers and trucking companies in this region all stop for the same few days, and quite a few teams take a longer break
around it. Orders placed in early October often move slower than buyers expect, and it is never the ink that suffers, it is your delivery date.
So if your October or November stock depends on ink arriving on time, the safest move is to confirm now. Send me your usual monthly quantity, we check what is on the shelf, and I will tell
you straight whether it can ship before the 25th. If it cannot, you would rather hear that today than in three weeks.
